HPOU Concludes All Screenings, Endorses Bill White for Mayor

Declaring that Houston businessman Bill White has the financial skills “to get Houston moving again,” the Houston Police Officers’ Union endorsed him for mayor in the Nov. 4 city election.
“Bill White has the skills to get Houston moving again,” HPOU President Hans Marticiuc said in a Sept. 25 news conference at Union headquarters. “This is good for motorists and for police officers responding to calls for help.

Hopefully most of you took the time to read the mail piece I sent out in an effort to quell the never-ending, unproductive rumors that we so love to engorge ourselves in. The bottom line is this is not the 1980s when we had no say as to what our environment looked like.
Our situation is so much different from that time. At that time we were not organized, we didn’t have an elected bargaining agent, we didn’t have a contract and we didn’t have a substantial PAC and a well-deserved reputation that goes with it.
