A Houston native, born in the East End . . . Graduated from Milby High School in 1971 . . . Then spent four years in the United States Air Force, where he became a sergeant . . . Attended engineering school at Fort Belvoir, Virginia . . . Spent two years in Strategic Air Command . . . Came to HPD in Cadet Class No. 72 in November 1975 and graduated Feb. 27, 1976 . . . Was president of his cadet class . . . Started on Park Place Patrol out of Southeast, 11 District . . . Went to East Side when East Side broke off from Southeast . . . Has spent all but two years of his career at East Side . . . Those two years were in Internal Affairs . . . Promoted to sergeant on Sept. 5, 1981 . . . HPD Officer of the Year in 1978 . . . Patrol Supervisor of the Year in May 2008 . . . One of the first graduates of HPD Spanish Class at Ripley House in 1978 . . . Married to Laura for 20 years . . . Son Paul IV and daughter Mary. . . Resides in Pearland . . . Hobby is photography.
