The votes are in for the amendments made to the 2001 Meet & Confer Agreement.
Results as of March 10, 2003:
For: 2400
Against: 239
The votes are in for the ratification election to amend the 2001 Meet and Confer Agreement. As shown in the total tally above, over 90% of the officers voting favored the amendments to modify and enhance the current contract. The next step in the process is a consideration period and favorable vote from the City Council. This action is set for the agenda later this month.
The leadership of the Houston Police Officers’ Union is grateful for the strong show of support. We believe these modifications and enhancements will significantly benefit all officers through 2006.
As per the proposed change in the Duration article, the Majority Bargaining Agent (HPOU) and the City of Houston (COH) may mutually agree to meet and confer on or after July 1, 2006 and we are hopeful to be back at the table during that time to again bargain for better benefits on your behalf.
