(Wednesday, Jan. 6), Acting Houston Police Chief Charles A. McClelland and members of the HPD Command Staff hosted a promotions ceremony followed immediately the historic cadet graduation ceremony at the M. O. Campbell Educational Center, 1865 Aldine Bender.
Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker joined Chief McClelland in
recognizing 79 men and women who graduated from HPD Cadet Class
#207, the largest cadet class in HPD history.
The graduates just completed a rigorous 26-week training regimen and
have been added to patrol stations throughout the city to help respond to
citizens’ calls.
Preceding the graduation ceremony, Chief McClelland promoted three
sergeants to the rank of lieutenant and seven officers to the rank of
sergeant.
