Appreciation Bar-B-Que
Appreciation Barbecue for Mama Cue fom her all support

My name is Officer Floyd "Jay" Hubbard; I have been with the Houston Police Department for 18 years. Having been previously assigned to the Southwest Division at 4503 Beechnut throughout my career I am familiar with Cue’s Burgers and More. This restaurant is located at 10423 S. Post Oak and has been in business for approximately 26 years. This restaurant is frequented by police officers who work at the Southwest and Fondren Divisions along with other local police agencies and fire stations.

Ms. Cue Kendall is the owner of Cue’s Burgers and More. It has come to my attention that Ms. Kendall was recently involved in a motor vehicle accident and is presently going through physical therapy for injuries sustained in the accident and is still running a business full time with limited staff. Ms. Kendall is a big supporter of the Houston Police Department, having held fundraisers pretty much every year for the Westbury Storefront since 1992. She has received three city proclamations from the mayor and has received several awards from the Houston Police Department, most recent was a corporate award on May 16, 2007 for her commitment and support to the police department and the community. After Hurricane Ike, while the city was in disarray due to damage, Ms. Kendall opened her business without power, and provided food for police officers and other emergency personnel. Every year during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays she provides a holiday meal to police officers who can not be with their families.

Ms. Kendall holds fundraisers for Johnston Middle School and Westbury High School Athletic Departments and the Texas Lion’s Club. Ms. Kendall does this without ever asking for anything in return. I along with several members of the Houston Police Department and community members are holding a Barbecue to show our appreciation for Ms. Kendall for all that she has done and still continues to do for the police and the community.

This is going to take place Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10423 S. Post Oak in the parking lot near the restaurant. The plates will be $8.00 and we will be serving from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or until we run out of food, which ever comes first.

Any support that you can give during this event to enable us to give back to Ms. Kendall for all she has done for our officers and community will be greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions or would like further information about the event feel free to contact me.

Thank You,

Sr. Officer Floyd Hubbard
