Barbeque Fund Raiser

HPD Officer and Pearland Volunteer Firefighter Phil Yochum

HPD Officer Philip Yochum was a 15 ½ year Veteran of the Houston Police Department and an Army Veteran that was battling colon and liver cancer for the past 2 years. Philip was also a volunteer firefighter at the Pearland Fire Department for the past 4 years. Philip was incredibly strong and
courageous in his struggle. Unfortunately, Philip succumbed to the aggressive cancer on October 17, 2010. Philip's friends at HPD and the Pearland Fire Department will be holding a fundraising event to help his wife, Melanie, to help with medical expenses they incurred during his illness.
The BBQ benefit will be held at the HPOU Building 1602 State St.
