One House at a Time
HPD Volunteers to Rebuild Houston One House at a Time Beginning at 7 a.m. on MONDAY (April 19) THROUGH SATURDAY (April 24), numerous Houston police officers and volunteers from HPD, along with "Rebuilding Together Houston" (a non-profit organization), will repair the home of a Houston resident and her disabled daughter.
HPD volunteers will work throughout the week on repairs at the home of Ms. Linda Hunt at 4510 Bricker.
Among the improvement on Ms. Hunt's home will be the construction of two new wheelchair ramps, repairs to the fence and front and back patios. Additionally, the home will receive a new paint job.
"Rebuilding Together Houston" has provided home repair services for low-income, elderly, and/or disabled Houston homeowners for more than 25 years. The City of Houston has partnered with the organization and has participated in the last 10 home repair programs. These programs assist those who are physically or financially unable to do the repairs themselves.
