Death of Frances B. Porter

Frances B. Porter passed away on May 13, 2011.  Frances was the surviving spouse of Lt. Breckenridge Porter, Sr., who passed away in 1999. The HPOU Building at 1602 State Street was named after Lt. Porter on January 6, 2000.  Lt. Porter was the President of the HPOA from 1948-1950.  Lt. Porter fought for, and gained civil service protection for all Houston Police Officers and their families in 1947.  He was a great man and behind every great man is a great woman.  Frances Porter was such a woman.  May they both rest in peace.

The body is entrusted with Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, Texas, telephone number (713) 869-6261. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery, 22271 Highway 59 North, Porter, Texas.
