HPD Officers to Welcome Wounded Warrior Heroes
Posted by Ray Hunt on Thursday May 19, 2011

From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. TOMORROW (Friday, May 20) Houston police officers, the United Service Organization (USO) and U.S. military personnel will be greeting and assisting wounded warriors as they land at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The arrival of 200 wounded veterans will kick off the beginning of "Warrior Weekend".  The veterans will arrive at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, 2800 North Terminal Road.  Media are asked to go to the Terminal C baggage claim area.

The fifth annual "Warrior Weekend" is a project of the Wounded Warrior Organization and MomsUSA in which wounded veterans participate in a deep-sea fishing trip in Port O'Connor.  This annual event honors Army and Marine veterans who have sustained life-altering injuries during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Several flights will arrive at Intercontinental Airport and HPD officers will be on hand to assist the veterans  (all of whom have special needs) with their baggage.
