With a total of 1,128 members voting, the 2004 HPOU run-off election for board of directors position 2, position 12, and position 18 is final. First-time candidate Phillip Waterwall and past board member Robert Sandoval defeated incumbents Brad Piel and Craig Newman respectively. Mike Hamby, who has served several years as a Barbecue Committee member defeated Leslie Wills who trailed him closely in the primary race.
