A call is going out to all members of the union to aid in the effort to assist the families of New Orleans officers who have been displaced by this horrific natural disaster.
Attention Officers
Due to the severe situation in the New Orleans area the HPOU is attempting to provide a point of assistance for New Orleans officers' family members that are here in Houston. In addition, we want to assist Houston officers who also have family members that are here from the New Orleans area.
If you are able to house one of these folks or know of an apartment complex that is willing to assist the family members of police officers please contact us here at the HPOU.
In addition, we will also collect donated (in good shape) clothing for men, women, children, and infants here at the HPOU located at 1600 State Street.
We do not want to accept any cash donations as of this time since we are anticipating doing a dues deduction from our members for this particular effort.
For further information please contact me at 832-200-3400 or my cell at 281-924-3001. You may also contact J J Berry at 281-924-3002.
This is an extraordinary situation that we are dealing with and I know that others would do the same for us if it were necessary.
