The Houston Police Department Professional Development Command has released important information regarding the appeals process for the Sergeants' Written Examination.

The initial phase of the appeals process for candidates who took the Sergeants' promotional examination will be conducted at the Morrison Training Academy, 17,000 Aldine-Westfield, room #424, on November 21 and 22, 2005, from 9am to 5pm, and on November 23, 2005 from 9am to 3pm. Since the City's Thanksgiving holidays will be celebrated on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2005, the last two days of the initial appeals process will be on Monday, November 28 and Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at 1200 Travis, first floor. Signs will be posted at 1200 Travis in the employee entrance area directing candidates to the appearls processing area for the last two days.

During the initial phase of the appeals process, candidates can expect to receive a copy their answer sheet, the test question that was answered incorrectly and the "Question Appeal Sheet" form. Candidates can record as many notes as they like during this review session, but all documents that are distributed by the vendor during these sessions, with the exception of the Question Appeal Sheet form, must be returned to Booth Research Group, Inc. before candidates leave the review room. Candidates can complete the Question Appeal Sheet form at any time between November 21 and 29, 2005. However, on November 21, 22 and 23, 2005, the appeal forms can only be turned in to Professional Development Command staff who will be temporarily assigned at the Training Academy to assist in the collection of the appeal forms. On November 28 and 29, 2005, the forms must be turned in a the 1200 Travis location.

All completed appeal forms must be turned in no later than 5pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2005.
